Wikidata is a free knowledge base with currently over 55 million data items that anyone can edit. In order to promote wikidata and encourage people to contribute, the Q-Wiki team aimed at creating an exciting game.
Q-Wiki is a strategy game for two players. The aim of the game is to conquer as much territory as you can in a limited time. Conquering areas is achieved by playing mini games, where one has to e.g. answer questions or do other knowledge-related stuff. Q-Wiki pulls its data directly from wikidata. So for winning the game you need to have a good knowledge in a number of different categories. Not only archaic book knowledge, but also knowldege of recent events, since Q-Wiki is always up to date
